Livingston, which was designated as a new town in 1962 and is located in the Almond Valley, it is now the largest town in West Lothian. Livingston has great road and rail links with Glasgow and Edinburgh. Situated on the edge of the M8 motorway that connects the two cities. Edinburgh Airport is also within a 20-minute drive. Edinburgh's growth as a city has helped establish Livingston as a destination, a great base to access Scotland's capital city.
Livingston Designer Outlet and Shopping Centre is a popular shopping destination across Scotland. Its excellent location in central Scotland, with three railway stations connecting you to the town, Livingston North, Livingston South, and Uphall, makes it a convenient destination.
Almondell and Calderwood Country Park are well worth a visit, with stunning walks around the valley and the Almond River. Almond Valley Heritage Centre is a wonderful day out with the family, with kids' play areas and farm animals or discovering the Shale Oil Museum. It is well worth visiting.
Livingston's central location in Scotland is an excellent base from which to discover the central belt of Scotland. With Bathgate and Linlithgow close by, visiting Linlithgow and Linlithgow Palace is a great day out. Not far from Falkirk where you find the Kelpies and the Falkirk wheel.
