Carnoustie, known worldwide for its renowned Carnoustie Golf Links, has been the venue for eight Open Championships, with the most recent one in 2018, won by Francesco Molinari. The 1999 Open Championship is particularly memorable. Scotsman Paul Lawrie came from 10 shots back in the final round to win in a four-hole playoff after Frenchman Jean Van de Velde needed a double bogey six on his 72nd hole and made a seven to force the playoff.

Situated on the East coast of Scotland in Angus, between Dundee and Arbroath, Carnoustie is a beautiful coastal town with a lot to offer. You can take a leisurely walk along the sandy beach or hike along the coastal path from Carnoustie to Arbroath to enjoy the breathtaking coastal scenery. If golf isn't for you, visit the Sandy Sensation playpark on the seafront, which is a hit with kids due to its adventure playground.
