Culzean Castle is an impressive 18th-century Castle perched on the cliff edge in South Ayrshire, situated on the route connecting Ayr and Turnberry, just off the A719. Crafted by the famous architect Robert Adam between 1777 and 1792, it was the residence of the Kennedy family, one of Scotland's prominent clans. Today, the Castle is managed by the National Trust for Scotland. Culzean Castle captivates visitors with its breathtaking cliffside location, beautiful gardens, and woodlands that offer stunning views of the Ayrshire coast.

David Kennedy, the 10th Earl of Cassillis, commissioned the Castle to reflect the family's affluence and stature. During the Second World War, the military utilised parts of the estate. In 1945, the Kennedy family donated the Castle to the National Trust for Scotland. With the condition that the top floor was for former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower as a token of gratitude for his contributions during the war. The "Eisenhower Apartment" continues to be a notable attraction and allows you the chance to stay in the Castle.

The interiors of the Castle are stunning, with its grand staircases, ceilings and furnishings, including musical instruments. The Armoury boasts one of the world's largest displays of flintlock pistols.

With 716 flintlock pistols on display in the Castle, with many being purchased by Archibald Kennedy. The 1st Marquess of Ailsa and 12th Earl of Cassillis (1770–1846) from the Office of Ordnance at the Tower of London, where they were being retired from active service. He also acquired hundreds of swords, amassing over 1,000 weapons, all part of the Castle's collection.
