Girvan lies at the mouth of the River Girvan in South Ayrshire. This harbour town is a popular destination for tourists visiting the Ayrshire coast. Girvan Beach is one of the main attractions in the town, and many regard it as one of the best beaches in the area. With golden sands and picturesque views, it offers visitors a traditional Scottish seaside experience. Girvan Beach is a perfect spot to enjoy a day out, as plenty of amusements are nearby.

Apart from the beach, many people still recognised Girvan as a fishing port before it developed into a holiday resort, thanks to improved rail and road access to the town. The town is known for its breathtaking views, and visitors can admire the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre from the beach on a clear day. The town is also famous for its proximity to the island of Ailsa Craig, located 10 miles off the coast. Widely admired for the islands granite production.
