Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, close to the city of Inverness. It is Scotland's second-largest Loch in terms of surface area but claims the title of the largest in terms of volume. With a depth of around 230 meters (754 feet), is among the deepest Lochs in Scotland. Stretching approximately 23 miles in length from Fort Augustus towards Inverness.
The Loch is famously linked to the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as "Nessie." At the Southern end of the Loch is the picturesque village of Fort Augustus. Known for the Caledonian Canal and its series of locks.The Falls of Foyers, a stunning waterfall, flows near the village of Foyers on the eastern side of the Loch.
Inverness is the capital of the Highlands. It is located at the northern end of the Loch and features attractions such as Inverness Castle. Drumnadrochit is a central point for Loch Ness tourism, offering accommodation, dining options, various Nessie-themed activities, and a life-sized Nessie model.
