Musselburgh, often referred to as the "Honest Toun," is situated on the east coast of Scotland, the neighbour of Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. Renowned for its golf and racecourse, Musselburgh Links is a unique 9-hole golf course located within the racecourse, Musselburgh Links is one of the original Open Championship venues.

The Musselburgh racecourse is a well-liked venue for horse racing in Scotland. It is easily accessible from Edinburgh and has frequent race meetings, making it an enjoyable day trip.

Situated on the Firth of Forth, the name "Musselburgh" is derived from the word "mussel," which denotes the abundant shellfish beds along the coastline.

Musselburgh can be accessed easily by road, from the city of Edinburgh bypass or the the A1. It is only a 20-minute train journey from the centre of Edinburgh.
