Prestwick is a seaside town in Ayrshire with a beautiful beach and views from the seafront, looking out of the Firth of Clyde and towards the Isle of Arran, located between Troon and Ayr.
Known for its International Airport, which offers a range of flight routes by Ryanair to many popular European holiday destinations. Also having great train links from Prestwick Town and the International Airport to Glasgow Central. It can also be easily accessed by car from Glasgow via the M77 in around 45 minutes.
Prestwick Golf Club which has hosted the Open Championship on 24 occassions is the Birthplace of the Open Championship in 1860. Located in the town and overlooked by the train station it is a must visit for golf lovers. The town also has two other golf courses Prestwick St Nicholas and Prestwick St Cuthberts.
Over the past few years, it has become renowned for its nightlife. With many trendy bars and restaurants, such as the Vic and the Vine or Lido Prestwick. With several nice places to stay, it is a lovely coastal town.
