Princes Street Gardens is one of the city's most renowned green spaces, providing stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. A tranquil escape from the busy Princes Street. The gardens are two parts, the East and West sections, with the Scottish National Gallery positioned between them. This historic parkland occupies a natural valley that was once the Nor Loch, part of the defence around the Castle. Nor Loch was drained in the 18th century to create the lush gardens that we enjoy today.
