The Himalayas Putting Green, St Andrews

A Unique St Andrews Experience

Next to the iconic Old Course, the Himalayas Putting Green offers one of the most enjoyable and accessible golfing experiences in St Andrews. Operated by the St Andrews Ladies' Putting Club, this quirky attraction welcomes visitors of all ages to try their hand at putting on this beautifully undulating putting green. With humps, hollows, slopes and a path running through the middle, you are sure to enjoy this wonderful experience.

History of the Himalayas

Founded in 1867, the St Andrews Ladies' Putting Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. It was created at a time when women had few opportunities to play the game, and the Himalayas course provided a space for social golf and competition.

What to Expect

The putting green isn't your average mini-golf course. With no windmills or novelty holes, you will find a putting course that offers an authentic feel, complete with natural contours and fast greens. With two courses available, the 18-hole blue course and a shorter 9-hole yellow course. Putters and balls are provided, although you are welcome to use your own equipment.

It's a fun way to spend around 45 minutes, whether you're a golfer or just looking for a relaxing outdoor activity in the heart of the Home of Golf.

The Himalayas Putting Green is open annually from April to September. Please note that severe weather conditions can cause the putting green to close at short notice.

For up-to-date pricing, opening times and online booking, visit the St Andrews Ladies' Putting Club website.
